Freeform has released photos from the series premiere of fashion dramedy The Bold Type and in them, we see that sometimes all it takes to make it through the tough times is your best friend by your side.
Based on the life of former Cosmopolitan editor Joanna Coles and developed for television by Sarah Watson (Parenthood), The Bold Type takes place in and around the offices of Scarlet, a global women’s magazine fronted by indomitable editor-in-chief Jacqueline (Melora Hardin). The series follows the progress of newly promoted Jane (Katie Stevens), a writer looking to tell deeper stories; Sutton (Meghann Fahy), an assistant at the magazine struggling to walk the line between her personal and professional lives; and social media director Kat (Aisha Dee), who wants to use her platform for a greater good as they take their first steps into adulthood, learn to find their own voices, and explore everything from sexuality to identity, love, and fashion.
In addition to Hardin, Stevens, Fahy, and Dee, The Bold Type stars Sam Page (Mad Men) as Richard, a member of the Scarlet board of directors; Matt Ward (TRON: Legacy) as Alex, a Scarlet writer who comes into Jane’s orbit; and Nikohl Boosheri (Rogue) as Adena, a photographer who grows closer with Kat.
