Freeform has released several previews for upcoming fashion dramedy The Bold Type and in them, we see that the best way to cope with a high pressure professional situation is with a little time with your friends.
Based on the life of former Cosmopolitan editor-in-chief Joanna Coles and developed for television by Sarah Watson (Parenthood), The Bold Type follows Jane (Katie Stevens), Kat (Aisha Dee), and Sutton (Meghann Fahy), three friends working at vaunted women’s magazine Scarlet. The trio provide the necessary emotional support for one another so that they all can work toward achieving their professional goals, changing the perception of young women working at a fashion-oriented magazine, and figuring out their place in the world.
In addition to Stevens, Dee, and Fahy, The Bold Type stars Sam Page (Self/less) as Richard, member of the Scarlet board of directors; Matt Ward (TRON: Legacy) as Alex, a Scarlet writer who catches Jane’s eye; and Melora Hardin (Transparent) as Scarlet editor-in-chief Jacqueline.
The two-hour series premiere of The Bold Type is set to air Tuesday, July 11th at 9:00 on Freeform.
