Deadline is reporting that Once Upon a Time alum Dania Ramirez has joined the cast of CBS All Access fairy tale thriller Tell Me a Story. She’ll be playing Army vet Hannah, who comes back to the city to rebuild her life and sort out the complicated emotions she carries thanks to her time in battle. However, when her estranged brother reaches out, she soon finds herself in a deadly chase for survival.
Based on a Spanish format and developed for television by Kevin Williamson (Dawson’s Creek), Tell Me a Story reimagines and reinterprets classic fairy tales through the lens of a psychological thriller, with the first season set to interweave The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, and Jack and the Beanstalk using themes of love, loss, greed, revenge, and murder.
In addition to her role on the ABC fairy tale drama, Ramirez has appeared on the likes of Devious Maids, Heroes, and Entourage. She joins a cast that includes Billy Magnussen (Boardwalk Empire), Kim Cattrall (Sex and the City), Danielle Campbell (The Originals), James Wolk (Zoo), and Paul Wesley (The Vampire Diaries).
Tell Me a Story is part of a growing scripted slate for CBS All Access that features Star Trek: Discovery, No Activity, and The Good Fight, as well as upcoming sex magick drama Strange Angel, rustbelt-set drama $1, and a Twilight Zone revival executive produced by Get Out‘s Jordan Peele.
