TBS has released the first looks at upcoming animated comedies Tarantula, Close Enough, and Final Space, the network’s first three original ventures into the medium under its newest regime.

From Carson Mell (Silicon Valley), Tarantula follows the residents of the Tierra Chula Resident Hotel, focusing specifically on absurdist tattoo artist Echo Johnson. The series uses Echo’s poetic ramblings to spin tales of misadventures with the other residents.

Created by J.G. Quintel (Regular Show), Close Enough tells the story of a married couple transitioning into their 30s while trying to keep ahold of their youthful spirit, even as they raise their first child.

From David Sacks (3rd Rock from the Sun) and Olan Rogers (The Right Stuff) comes Final Space, a space-set comedy that chronicles the journey of astronaut Gary and his planet-destroying friend Mooncake as they attempt to find the place where the entire universe ends.

Prior to this latest wave of comedies, TBS has only had two original animated series – Cartoon Planet, a spinoff of Space Ghost Coast to Coast, and Neighbors from Hell, which followed a family of demons as they adjusted to living in Texas.

All three of Tarantula, Close Enough, and Final Space should debut during the 2017-18 television season. Premiere dates will be announced in the coming months. You can take a look at  each show below.

Will you be watching Tarantula, Close Enough, and/or Final Space? Are you excited that TBS is delving into animation after the success of American Dad? What type of animated shows would you like to see from the network in the future?
