ABC has cancelled sophomore comedy Splitting Up Together, it was confirmed today.
The news doesn’t come as much of a surprise given that the series collapsed in the ratings without the Roseanne halo. While it looked better the longer the season wore on, as ABC’s comedy slate softened and lead-in Black-ish looked especially weak, Splitting Up Together was still down over 40% in the demo. Not to mention the fact that it was the only ABC bubble comedy to not be owned by the network, which was another nail in the show’s coffin.
The series finale of Splitting Up Together aired earlier this spring on ABC.
