The search for a new KSiteTV logo for our upcoming redesign is now complete!

Some fantastic and original submissions came in, from some very talented people. Of those submissions, there was a specific design that I really fell in love with… it totally matched what I was hoping for with the new site redesign, and it also seemed to have a very cool brand/identity that is frankly, not something I could have come up with myself.

This design came courtesy of Cyclonekat, who is no stranger to the world of fantastic art among Smallville fandom. I’d been impressed by her work in the past and I’m very impressed here. I think the “KS” part of the TV logo might still be fudged around a bit, but this is definitely the sort of thing you’ll see when the new KSiteTV redesign rolls out within the next few days leading to Comic-Con.

Here is her entry:

So a huge THANK YOU to those people who took the time to submit – I really appreciate that each and every one of you shared your talent. If there’s any interest I can and will post some of those submissions here on KSiteTV. And of course thanks to Cyclonekat, for the fantastic logo – I hope you enjoy your prizes!

Share.

  1. well, I’m not the one with the new website vision, but I think it’s super plain. the only thing “designed” about it, is the TV, and even that, you want to tweek a bit. It’s just bold font, black on white. Nothing special. Kind of disappointed. I’d like to see others. Maybe for kicks, you could hold a poll to vote for the readers favorite?

  2. But then if there’s a poll and others pick a different one (and there were really good ones out there), I’d come off looking like a jerk because I picked a logo and I’m set on that one. I don’t think that’s a good idea. My decision is final – as final as a logo-liking idea will be.

  3. At some point, yes. Right now higher priorities are to get the new logo implemented and get a whole lot of things prepared for Comic-Con.

  4. Isn’t it kind of mean to say that someone else’s work is plain when you know they could easily read it?

It was my favorite that came in. There were some fantastic entries, but this did have more of what I was looking for.

  5. I really like it. It’s simple yet creative. Ironically, I was going to use a TV-like theme, but decided against it.

By the way, the new site design is very nice! It’s easier to look at.

  6. YEah i like the new design to i have read kryptonsite and now ksite for years. While i have always loved the site it has always seemed a little cluttered. This one is real easy on the eyes.

  7. I actually agree with you Chase – I think clutter and darkness were two issues the site (or sites) have had, which is what I tried to get away from with this new design. CapeSite.net is also using the new look now, and maybe – if I can get it to happen – KryptonSite will eventually, too.

  8. Hey, really nice job Craig; Love the new website layout (WordPress is a great CMS) and also the logo. Ksite has now a fresh air and you deserved it. Congrats to you and CycloneKat, well, I’m not *that* suprised, as she always creates great stuff!

  9. Nadia, that’s for sure (about her always creating new stuff).

I hope now that people can and have seen the logo within the entire site look they’ll see that it really fits well.

  10. Well, I *LOVE* it! CycloneKat is amazing and very talented. I think this design is bold, clear, and simply eyecatching in its simplicity. The little tv is also modern and funky!
