The character of Sally Waltman was originally being cast for The Secret Circle’ s pilot but it seems the character disappeared.
But wait!
It appears they are casting the role of Sally after all for the show’s second episode.
Sally tries to recruit Cassie for the Chance Harbor Gazette club, to get her to write for the student newspaper. She’s described as “spunky.” Chloe Sullivan for 2011, maybe?
Later, spoiler warning Sally invites Cassie and drives her to a party at the Boathouse, which is hosted by… Diana. She really can’t escape the Circle, can she? Before this happens, Cassie tells her a bit about how she found someone that she likes… but that someone already has a girlfriend. Oops.

Although the character is described as just “Sally,” we are at least assuming it is the “Sally Waltman” character from the books.
