According to The Hollywood Reporter, rapper Tyga and Notorious actor C.J. Wallace have been cast on the upcoming third season of Scream. Tyga will be playing Jamal, the loyal step-brother to the main character whose big heart is sometimes shielded by the crowd he hangs out with, while Wallace is set as socially awkward Amir, whose dreams of making it in music are threatened when he becomes the target of a killer.

Season three of Scream will be a complete reboot, with an all-new cast, a new setting, and new storylines. To be showran by Brett Matthews (The Vampire Diaries), production on the six-episode season will move to Atlanta, while it’s as yet unclear whether there’ll be any mention of or wrap up for the storylines and character arcs depicted in the first two seasons. The third season is set to follow star high school running back Deion, whose tragic past comes back to haunt him at the most inopportune time.

This will be the first scripted series television credits for both Tyga and Wallace. The former has been seen in Once Upon a Time in Venice, Dope, and Mac & Devin Go to High School, with the latter’s movie credits including Kicks, Everything Must Go, and Highway.

Season three of Scream will air in a three-night binge event March 2018, a move similar to how Syfy rolled out the third season of 12 Monkeys. A more concrete premiere date should be announced in the ensuing months.
