ABC has released an official description for the second episode of Scandal Season 4.

It’s called “The State of the Union” and here’s the write-up:

FITZ PREPARES FOR HIS STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS, ON ABC’S “SCANDAL”

Guest Starring Portia De Rossi (“Arrested Development”), Mary McCormick (“In Plain Sight”) and Josh Randall (“Ed”)

“The State of the Union” – In order for Fitz to make the biggest impact with his State of the Union address on gun control, Cyrus sets out to recruit a power couple (Mary McCormick and Josh Randall) who are influential on the issue. Meanwhile, Mellie’s personal struggle gets national attention on “Scandal,” THURSDAY, OCTOBER 2 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

“Scandal” stars Kerry Washington as Olivia Pope, Guillermo Diaz as Huck, Darby Stanchfield as Abby Whelan, Katie Lowes as Quinn Perkins, Tony Goldwyn as President Fitzgerald Grant, Jeff Perry as Cyrus Beene, Bellamy Young as Mellie Grant, Joshua Malina as David Rosen and Scott Foley as Jacob “Jake” Ballard. Guest cast TBA.

“The State of the Union” was written by Heather Mitchell and directed by Allison Liddi-Brown.
