Pose Trailer: First Look at FX’s Ballroom Drama

FX has released the first trailer for upcoming ballroom drama Pose and in it, we get a look at a subculture coming into its own.

From Ryan Murphy (American Crime Story), Brad Falchuk (Glee), and Steven Canals (Dead of Summer), Pose takes place in New York City during 1987 and follows the juxtaposition of the rising ballroom scene with the luxury of a Trump-era universe that features a bustling downtown social and literary scene. Set to feature the largest transgender series regular cast ever, as well as the largest LGBTQ cast ever for a scripted series, Pose follows New Jersey couple Stan (Evan Peters) and Patty (Kate Mara) as they’re caught in the vortex of a changing society that offers them things they couldn’t have otherwise imagined.

In addition to Peters and Mara, Pose stars James Van Der Beek (Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt. 23), Billy Porter (The First Wives Club), and newcomer Ryan Jamaal Swain.

The series premiere of Pose is set to air Sunday, June 3rd at 9:00 on FX.
