Deadline is reporting that two-time Emmy winner Julie Bowen (Modern Family) has signed on to star in CBS comedy pilot Raised by Wolves (fka Please Hold for Frankie Wolfe).
From Max Mutchnick and David Kohan (Will & Grace), Raised by Wolves follows successful crisis manager Frankie Wolfe whose world is turned upside down when she adopts an 11-year-old girl she raises with the help of her nervous wreck of a sister.
Bowen will play Frankie, an aggressive, blunt-talking powerhouse whose demeanor was shaped by a difficult childhood with her parents Arnie and Barbara.
Raised by Wolves is one of several comedy pilots in contention at CBS for next season, joining B Positive, about a man seeking a kidney donation who finds a donor where he least expects it; The United States of Al, revolving around the friendship between a Marine and his interpreter; single cam Ghosts, starring iZombie‘s Rose McIver; sibling series The Three of Us; legal comedy Jury Duty; and an untitled mother/daughter comedy from Corinne Kingsbury that stars Hannah Simone and Elizabeth Hurley.
In addition to her role on the acclaimed ABC comedy, set to wrap its run later this spring, Bowen’s television credits include Ed, The Mindy Project, and Boston Legal.
