Epix has announced three new series regulars that will be joining Batman prequel Pennyworth for its upcoming second season, as well as two season one recurring players who got promoted.

James Purefoy (Altered Carbon) is set as Captain Gulliver Troy, a cultured brute who is Alfie’s former SAS captain. Edward Hogg (Harlots) will play would-be despot Colonel Salt, a calculating killer masquerading as a civil servant. Jessye Romeo (Curfew) will portray idealistic art student Katie Browning, whose life is uprooted by civil war.

In addition to the three newbies above, Ramon Tikaram and Harriet Slater have been promoted after recurring during season one. Tikaram is seen as sardonic Inspector Aziz, while Slater’s Sandra has become the resident singer in Alfie’s club, putting her one step closer to her dreams of stardom.

Pennyworth is part of a slate of originals for Epix that includes Get Shorty and Godfather of Harlem. The premium cable network recently gave Perpetual Grace, LTD a limited run conclusion in lieu of renewing it for a second season, while Stephen King series Jerusalem’s Lot, starring Adrien Brody, was given a straight-to-series order in December.

The second season of Pennyworth is already filming, with a premiere later this year.
