MIDSEASON & OTHER STUFF

SHILO: NBC already has quite the haul for midseason, with four six-episode comedies (Mr. Robinson, One Big Happy, Bad Judge, Mission Control) and several dramas (Emerald City, Heroes: Reborn, The Slap) among the projects on the network’s slate that weren’t mentioned up above. About a Boy and Marry Me likely won’t be staying behind The Voice all season, while Parks might receive a sub-22 order and leave a Thursday slot open for another comedy and Constantine will likely cede its slot to Hannibal sometime in 2015. Sundays, meanwhile, should see The Bible A.D. and possibly another drama. Interestingly, the network has the Super Bowl this year, so their choice of post-game programming could greatly inform the way their midseason schedule looks. Could they opt to give The Blacklist a shot in the arm if a move from Mondays doesn’t quite pan out? Might they give one of their Blacklist-esque dramas (Allegiance, Odyssey) a try? Is it likely they’ll use two new comedies in a bid to breed their next generation of hits?

CRAIG: NBC has so much that they ordered for this year, that they could conceivably have a totally different schedule at midseason from how the season is launching. It’s actually smart of them, though, because that means that they can keep a consistently decent amount of programming throughout the year. What is or isn’t saved for midseason should be really interesting to find out. Also, you mentioned the post-Super Bowl spot. If they really want to show their belief in the project, that might be a GREAT place to launch Heroes Reborn, which is an idea I’m going to go against the grain and say that I love.

  1. Hey, news came out that Dracula was canceled by NBC today. I’ve seen comments this week that it’s an international production and as such could be airing in other countries even if it’s not in the US. Is this true? Will a season 2 air outside the US, like Saving Hope is a Canadian show that keeps going even though NBC didn’t want to air it anymore?

  2. What about the biggest loser? Also The Celebrity Apprentice was officially renewed back in March and is already done filming, so I can see that maybe being on the fall schedule
