OWN has released the trailer for upcoming romantic drama Love Is and in it, we see the beginnings of a relationship nobody saw coming.
From Mara Brock and Salim Akil (Girlfriends),Love Isfollows Nuri (Michele Weaver) and Yasir (Will Catlett), a power couple as they navigate the intricacies of Black Hollywood. Told from the perspective of the characters’ present-day selves and primarily set in 1990’s Los Angeles, Love Is revisits the social issues and vibrant black culture of that time reflecting on how it all aligned to shape the couple they have become nearly 20 years later.
In addition to Weaver and Catlett,the seriesstars Yootha Wong-Loi-Sing (Hunter Street), Tyrone Marshall Brown (Chicago PD), Idara Victor (Mad Men), Kadeem Hardison (Parenthood), Clarke Peters (Treme), and Wendy Davis (Army Wives). It joins a drama slate for OWN that includes Queen Sugar, Greenleaf, The Haves and the Have Nots, and If Loving You is Wrong.
The series premiere of Love Is is set to air Tuesday, June 19th at 10:00 on OWN.
