After the Cape panel at the Comic-Con International in San Diego, KSiteTV was one of the outlets who was able to speak with the cast in roundtable interviews. Among the cast members we talked to was the popular Summer Glau, who has a legion of fans from her work on Firefly, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Dollhouse, and other genre favorites.

Summer told us how the role differs from past roles such as River and Cameron. “I’ve always played kind of kick-ass girls, but Orwell’s different, because she’s on her own completely, and she obviously has a lot of resources that none of my other characters have had before, which is really fun,” she says. “I’m really exploring how it feels to play someone who really seems to have no fear. She’s going for it, going after these corporations and powerful men, and it’s different,” she reveals.

As for The Cape series itself, and how it differs from other shows in the same genre, Glau points to certain qualities the show has as being what would set the show apart. “I love the quality of hope and the quality of humor in it,” she says.
