NBC has opted to cancel freshman comedy I Feel Bad, it was confirmed today.
The news comes as no surprise given that star Sarayu Blue recently landed a role in CBS medical drama pilot Under the Bridge, a sign that a show is, at best, on the bubble. But with its tepid reviews, poor ratings, and nonexistent buzz, I Feel Bad had been very far away from the bubble when Blue took her pilot, making today’s announcement a mere formality.
Based on Orli Auslander’s I Feel Bad: All Day. Every Day. About Everything, with Aseem Batra (The Cleveland Show) developing for television, the series told the story of Emet (Sarayu Blue), a wife, mother, and career woman who strives to have it all. The only problem? She feels bad about everything from being a hypocrite to missing important moments with her kids, turning into her mother, and never having enough time.
In addition to Blue, I Feel Bad starred Paul Adelstein (Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce), Madhur Jaffrey (Doom Patrol), Brian George (The Big Bang Theory), James Buckley (White Gold), Zach Cherry (Crashing), and Johnny Pemberton (Superstore).
The series finale of I Feel Bad aired in December on NBC.
