The CW has become the latest broadcast network to confirm its plans for summer by unveiling premiere dates for four original series, starting with the Monday, May 29th season premiere of Whose Line Is It Anyway?. Airing at 9:00, Whose Line will once again be hosted by Aisha Tyler and feature Wayne Brady, Ryan Stiles, and Colin Mochrie.
June sees the season premiere of Dean Cain-hosted Masters of Illusion, which returns Friday, June 30th at 8:00. The series showcases magic performed by illusionist and escape artists in front of a live studio audience. The CW’s reality slate will further expand in July with the return of fellow magic show Penn & Teller: Fool Us on Monday, July 10th at 8;00. Penn & Teller follows aspiring magicians seeking to fool the world-famous magic team with their best trick. If Penn & Teller cannot explain how a magician accomplished their feat, the magician gets to perform with them in their Las Vegas show.
The lone new scripted entry for The CW this summer will be international acquisition Hooten & the Lady, which makes its series premiere Thursday, July 13th at 9:00. The series chronicles the adventures of treasure hunters Hooten (Michael Landes), a mischeivious America who always finds himself in sticky situations, and thrill-seeking British aristocrat Lady Alexandra (Ophelia Lovibond) as they meet in the middle of the Amazon jungle and form an unexpected bond that takes them to places far and wide.
In addition to Landes and Lovibond, Hooten & the Lady stars Jessica Hynes (Spaced) and Shaun Parkes (The Mummy Returns).
