Netflix has renewed their critically-acclaimed series Heartstopper for two more seasons, meaning Season 2 and Season 3 are coming for Nick (Kit Connor) and Charlie (Joe Locke) as well as their group of friends.
The eight-episode first series has gotten a lot of positive word of mouth, and it has increased sales on the Alice Oseman-created graphic novel that inspired the show. The show has topped Netflix’s Top Ten lists and has already begun to propel its young cast, with actress Yasmin Finney recently being cast as the latest companion in Doctor Who.
Here’s how Season 1 was described… and the further seasons will continue the journey.
Boy meets boy. Boys become friends. Boys fall in love. When gentle Charlie and rugby-loving Nick meet at secondary school, they quickly discover that their unlikely friendship is blossoming into an unexpected romance. Charlie, Nick and their circle of friends must navigate the ever-relatable journey of self discovery and acceptance, supporting each other as they learn to find their most authentic selves.
