Deadline is reporting that Sam Adegoke (Switched at Birth) has joined the cast of the upcoming CW Dynasty reboot. He’ll be playing billionaire tech guru Jeff Colby, a man who fought his way from a humble beginning to become a major player in a flourishing industry. Now a rival to Blake Carrington, Jeff seeks to use his flirty relationship with high school peer (and Blake’s daughter) Fallon Carrington (Elizabeth Gillies) in order to exact revenge.
Executive produced by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (The OC), Dynasty is a reboot to the classic 80s primetime soap and once again follows the simmering feud between the Carringtons and the Colbys, two families who spar over the lives of their children and the fate of their money. The series will focus on the conflict between Fallon and Cristal (UnREAL‘s Nathalie Kelley), a Hispanic woman who begins a relationship with Fallon’s father Blake. Fallon thinks that Cristal’s motivations for starting a relationship with Blake, a man decades her senior, aren’t exactly pure, but she has to find proof that Cristal is trying to exploit her father before she’ll be believed.
In addition to his role on the ABC Family/Freeform drama, Adegoke has appeared on the likes of Murder in the First, Code Black, and Wicked City.
Dynasty is one of six pilots currently in contention at The CW, joining military drama Valor, DC-verse entrant Black Lightning, beauty pageant drama Insatiable, cancer dramedy Life Sentence, and fantasy-themed Searchers. The CW will make decisions about which of their pilots will receive series orders the week before its upfront presentation this May.
