The death of Thomas Carrington is sure to shake the Carrington family to its core. While he wasn’t a daily presence in the lives of Blake and company, he paved the way for the current Carrington dynasty, helping to shape Blake’s approaches to business and family while establishing the family name that would take his son far. The suddenness of his passing, combined with his presence and influence in the family, would unsettle even the sturdiest of broods, let alone a family like the Carringtons whose volatility has only been increasing. But while Thomas’s death is sure to stir up some complicated feelings in Blake and have a ripple effect that will impact Cristal, Steven, and Fallon, the one side effect that no one in the Carrington family saw coming was the sudden reappearance of Alexis.
On tonight’s episode of Dynasty, Alexis Carrington returns to Atlanta society at the scene of Thomas’s funeral, inadvertently (?) catching her fellow Carringtons in as vulnerable a position as they’ve ever been. Though Alexis’s standing with her brood has been on the upswing lately, as Fallon learned that Blake was the cheater who broke apart their relationship and drove her mother away, Blake’s strong reaction to losing his father coupled with the (understandable) suspicion as to her motives in returning make what could’ve been a joyous event decidedly less so. Even with Fallon in a more forgiving state of mind, Alexis has been gone for quite a while and things have certainly changed since she last saw her children, so it might not be so easy to pick up where they left off. Especially if her sole motive in returning to the fold was financially related rather than paying her respects to Thomas and catching up with Fallon and Steven.
Elsewhere on Dynasty, Fallon’s feud with Jeff goes public, forcing her to keep new “husband” Liam close, while Cristal makes a rash decision about her marriage and Steven weighs his options regarding how to help Sam’s immigration status.
Dynasty airs tonight at 8:00 on The CW. You can check out how KSiteTV thinks the show became a must-watch soap here.
What kind of impact will Alexis’s appearance have on the Carrington family’s attempt at saying goodbye to Thomas? How can Fallon shake herself of Liam while continuing to hold the advantage over Jeff? Could Blake’s reaction to Thomas’s death push Cristal away irrevocably?
