Of the new projects proposed for The CW’s Fall 2012 schedule, beyond Arrow, Cult may be the one that’s the most intriguing to me. Developed years ago for The WB before the network folded and merged into The CW, the concept seemed quite interesting, and it was definitely one that should not be skipped.

We’ve gotten a little bit of detail about characters we may see in Cult. This could change between now and when the show premieres (if ever).

Jeff Sefton sounds like he may be the male lead, and may possibly be the role that Matthew Bomer would have played had the original pilot been shot. Jeff’s brother Nate comes to him full of drama, saying he “wants out.” When he’s asked what he wants out of, the thing he wants to be away from is a TV show called Cult. Jeff meets with Skye for help.

“Skye” is Skye Yarrow. She’s an assistant for the TV show Cult who gets involved with whatever bad things are going on in association with the show. She is aware of some of the more illicit “fan sites” for the show that aren’t necessarily all fun and games.

We’re thinking that Kelly Collins is the female protagonist of the Cult show-within-a-show. In one scene she confronts a shady character named Billy Grimm.

This isn’t a lot of detail but it is encouraging to know that the original concept – where a brother teams with a PA to investigate something that happened to his brother – seems restored. Surely we will be hearing more about Cult and casting for the show in the coming weeks. Come talk about Cult on the KSiteTV Forum!
