It’s a good year for DC Comics adaptations on TV.

John_Constantine_0013On top of good news for Gotham to come at today’s FOX press tour, Deadline is reporting that Constantine, based on the John Constantine: Hellblazer character from DC Comics, will indeed have a pilot episode shot.

Deadline’s report says “Constantine centers on John Constantine, an enigmatic and irreverent con man-turned-reluctant supernatural detective who is thrust into the role of defending us against dark forces from beyond.”

The pilot will come from The Mentalist’s David Cerone and DC movie guru David S. Goyer, and it will surely shoot soon for possible inclusion on NBC’s Fall 2014 schedule. Now, as we learned from things like Wonder Woman and Aquaman, this might not make the air for sure; however, Deadline’s report does seem encouraging.

  1. Charlie Hunnam would be a good Constantine and with SoA starting to wrap up it’s doable.

  2. Just… you know, not Keanu. ::shudder::

This is the last season of The Mentalist. I think Simon Baker would be an amazing Constantine.
