The Fall Guy movie starring Ryan Gosling is hitting theaters this weekend, but decades ago, The Fall Guy was a TV series starring Lee Majors, Heather Thomas, and Douglas Barr.
One of the most memorable aspects of the series was the show’s theme song, “The Unknown Stuntman,” sung by Lee Majors and covered by Blake Shelton for the closing moments of the new film. The opening credits showed his character “Colt Seavers” accomplishing several stunts… though really, they were stunt sequences using footage from movies that had come in the years before the show premiered.
A YouTube user named “SCL, Stunt Fan” created an impressive video that identifies where many of those stunts first surfaced. It’s a great look at what stunts were in the pre-CGI era, and also, it’s a fun song to hear, because yes, Lee Majors had indeed been seen with Farrah. Check it out below; the original Fall Guy is available on DVD.
