It’s been a tough year. Between the threat of nuclear war, the continued attempts of the government to strip its citizens of basic rights, the hellstorm of environmental tragedies that further underline the existence and influence of global warming, and the avalanche of sexual harassments/assaults being uncovered within all industry, it can be hard to stay positive, even during the Christmas season and even for those whose outlook is normally optimistic. Fortunately for us, we have Bob’s Burgers and fortunately for Linda Belcher, she has a world whose biggest problems are people being sad and that one guy from that show dying, so it’s the perfect time to inject a little Christmas cheer.
On the one-hour fall finale of Bob’s Burgers, Linda decides to throw a holiday party at the restaurant in an attempt to brighten up the neighborhood during a fairly bleak holiday season. Naturally, Linda loves Christmas time and wants to share its magic with those who need a little touch of happiness to get them through the year. However, when her precious ornaments turn up missing, Linda’s concerns go from the health and happiness of her fellow man to which dirtbag would have the nerve to steal the ornaments her kids made for her when they were younger. As Linda presses every guest she invited for a lead, including Marshmallow’s friend Art the Artist, the kids learn of another possible culprit – The Bleaken, a Krampus-like figure Teddy’s grandma warned him and his sister of. Could the ornaments have been stolen not by someone who took advantage of Linda’s hospitality but by an evil spirit whose purpose is to capitalize on sadness and anger?
The one-hour fall finale of Bob’s Burgers airs Sunday at 8:30 on FOX.
Who do you think took Linda’s ornaments? Will the kids be able to prove the existence of the Bleaken? How will the Belcher Christmas ultimately turn out?
