UPDATE: The Black Lightning Pilot Moves To The CW

UPDATE: It’s confirmed by THR: The Black Lightning pilot is moving to The CW! THR also notes that this is the sixth of six CW pilot orders, which means high-profile Charmed and Lost Boys projects may have to wait a while. Here’s the original story:

Some bad news and good news to come from Deadline regarding the TV pilot based on DC Comics’ Black Lightning.

The bad news is it sounds like FOX passed on making a pilot for the series, which might not be too surprising considering the X-Men project as well as DC Comics properties Gotham and Lucifer.

The possibly good news is that according to Deadline, there are “discussions underway” for the project – coming from super-producer Greg Berlanti as well as Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil – to make a move to The CW. Riverdale did something similar, first starting in development at FOX.

Should The CW order a pilot – and if it goes to series – that would mark 5 DC Comics shows from Greg Berlanti on the network at the same time. Deadline’s article notes that Jefferson Pierce’s two daughters would be likely to factor into the series, possibly more with a move to The CW. And if the show is on The CW – could it mean that it could crossover into the other DC shows?
