Parks and Recreation wasn’t the only series to film an episode in a groundbreaking way, filming extensively and remotely using programs such as FaceTime, WebEx, and Zoom. All Rise also managed this milestone with a special episode airing toinght (May 4).
The episode is called “Dancing at Los Angeles” and here’s how CBS describes it:
With Los Angeles under a mandatory shelter-in-place order and trials piling up, Judge Benner authorizes Judge Carmichael to preside over a virtual bench trial, a case regarding a dispute between brothers over a car, on the virtually produced, timely episode of ALL RISE, Monday, May 4 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. While Emily represents the defendant, Kurt Beto (Mo McRae), Mark represents the prosecution, marking the first time he tries a case in Lola’s “court.” Also, Mark and Quinn (Lindsey Gort) explore how to continue their romantic relationship while quarantined in separate homes; Judge Benner oversees court from afar and learns to cook; Sara finds temporary work as a food delivery driver; Luke and Emily’s relationship is taxed by separation; and germaphobe and type-A Sherri contends with the new world (dis)order.
Throughout it all, unknown dance party DJ Tailwind (Dorian Missick) offers a comforting, irreverent voice for all Angelenos in lockdown by sharing his music and thoughts via his laptop at home.
All Rise stars Simone Missick (Lola Carmichael), Wilson Bethel (Mark Callan), Marg Helgenberger (Lisa Benner), Jessica Camacho (Emily Lopez), J. Alex Brinson (Luke Watkins), Lindsay Mendez (Sara Castillo), and Ruthie Ann Miles (Sherri Kansky).
Recurring cast making an appearance in “Dancing at Los Angeles” include Reggie Lee (Head DDA Thomas Choi), Lindsey Gort (Amy Quinn), Paul McCrane (Judge Jonas Laski), Audrey Corsa (Samantha Powell), Todd Williams (Robin Taylor), L. Scott Caldwell (Roxy Robinson), Patricia Rae (Judge Delgado), Peter MacNicol (Judge Campbell), and Ryan Michelle Bathe (Rachel Audubon).
Guest stars in this very special episode include Dorian Missick (DJ Tailwind), Mo Mcrae (Kurt Beto), Edwin Hodge (Joey Beto), Lex Scott Davis (Rosa), and Dakotah Masset (Danielle).

It was done with such diverse emotional interactions between the regulars and guests but at the same time had a virtual trial case that was so interesting and who knows might be like this in the future!
