ABC released trailers for new comedies Abbott Elementary and Maggie, both of which will premiere midseason.
From Quinta Brunson (A Black Lady Sketch Show), who also stars, Abbott Elementary centers on a group of teachers working at a poorly funded public school district in Philadelphia. Despite the odds stacked against them, from class sizes that are too large to manage to district leaders that are apathetic at best toward education, they are determined to help their students succeed in life.
In addition to Brunson, the series stars Tyler James Williams (Everybody Hates Chris), Janelle James (Black Monday), Chris Perfetti (The Night Of), Lisa Ann Walter (The Parent Trap), and Sheryl Lee Ralph (Moesha).
Abbott Elementary is set to air midseason on ABC. You can check out the network’s full fall 2021 schedule here.

From Justin Adler (Life in Pieces), the series stars Rebecca Rittenhouse (Red Band Society), David Del Rio (The Baker and the Beauty), Nichole Sakura (Superstore), Angelique Cabral (Undone), Leonardo Nam (Westworld), Ray Ford (Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt. 23), Chloe Bridges (Daytime Divas), Kerri Kenney (Reno 911!), and Chris Elliott (Schitt’s Creek).
