HBO has announced that drag queen reality series We’re Here will have a digital pre-show ahead of its Friday television premiere, with the first episode set to debut for free on the cabler’s YouTube channel.
On Friday, April 23rd at 8:30, HBO will simulcast the half-hour We’re Here pre-show via YouTube and its official Twitter account. Set to include celebrity cameos and behind-the-scenes intel from season one, the pre-show will also feature information on LGBTQ+-friendly non-profits Free Mom Hugs and Mama Dragons, both of whom will receive a donation from HBO.
The series premiere of We’re Here will then be made available on YouTube at 9:00 when the episode begins airing on HBO’s linear network. This marks the first time HBO has made content available for free at the same time as its debut. They’ve previously hosted various series premieres on YouTube but only after they’ve finished their television premiere.
We’re Here follows RuPaul’s Drag Race alumni Shangela, Eureka O’Hara, and Bob the Drag Queen as they travel across America and recruit small town residents to participate in a one-night-only drag show. The series arrives at the same time as TLC’s Dragnificent!, a fellow reality show filled with Drag Race alumni and focused on building self-confidence.
