Deadline is reporting that The CW’s Jane the Virgin spinoff pilot Jane the Novela has added Remy Hii (Marco Polo), Jane the Virgin‘s Ivonne Coll, American Crime alum Benito Martinez, and Holland Roden (Channel Zero: Butcher’s Block). Hii will play Estela’s sweet, dependable boyfriend Luen, who will stop at nothing to win back the woman he loves when their relationship is threatened by Felix; Coll is set as Estela’s adoptive mother Camila, willing to do anything to protect the life she shares with her daughter; Martinez portrays enigmatic Raul, who knows all the dirt in Napa Valley; and Rolland plays Felix’s animal rights activist Sienna.
In addition to his role on the Netflix drama, Hii’s television credits include Harrow, Sisters, and Neighbours; Coll has been seen on Switched at Birth, Getting On, and East Los High; Martinez has appeared on the likes of Sons of Anarchy, 13 Reasons Why, and The Blacklist; and Rolland’s television credits include Teen Wolf, MacGyver, and Lore. They join a cast that features Marcia Cross (Desperate Housewives) and Hunter Parrish (Weeds).
