Comedy Central has released a first trailer for upcoming scripted series South Side and in it, we see
Created by and starring Bashir Salahuddin (GLOW) and Diallo Riddle (Marlon), South Side follows two recently graduated friends looking to take over the world. That’ll be difficult since they’re stuck in a working class neighborhood in Chicago, working at a Rent-T-Own that doesn’t exactly foster their entrepreneurial dreams. The series follows them tackling the socioeconomic and political obstacles they face on a daily basis and leaning on their friendship when their ambition is forced to take a backseat.
In addition to Sahalhuddin and Riddle, South Side stars Sultan Salahuddin (Shaji) and Chandra Russell (Downtown Girls). Set to guest star are Lil Rel Howery (Rel), Nathaniel “Earthquake” Stroman (Everybody Hates Chris), LisaRaye McCoy (Single Ladies), Kel Mitchell (Game Shakers), and Ed Lover (Undisputed).
The series is part of a scripted slate for Comedy Central that includes a Crank Yankers revival, newly renewed The Other Two, South Park, Corporate, and Drunk History.
