Comedy Central has announced that acclaimed new comedy The Other Two has been renewed for a second season.
“The secret sauce is that it’s not just really funny, but a searing social and cultural commentary,” said Comedy Central President Kent Alterman. “It also has so much heart, and none of those things are in opposition to each other.”
From Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider (Saturday Night Live), The Other Two follows struggling actor Cary (Drew Tarver) and his directionless sister Brooke Dubek (Helene Yorke) as they deal with their tween brother Chase (Case Walker) becoming a viral sensation. The series centers on Cary and Brooke trying to find their way while supporting their brother, as well as Chase’s increasingly absurd dealings with the fame industrial complex.
In addition to Tarver, York, and Walker, The Other Two stars Molly Shannon (Divorce) as Dubek matriarch Pat and Ken Marino (Marry Me) as Chase’s manager Streeter.
The series is part of a scripted slate for Comedy Central that includes South Park, Corporate, and Drunk History. The network is currently airing the final season of Broad City.
The Other Two airs Thursdays at 10:30 on Comedy Central.
