The fourth season DVD collection of 2 Broke Girls hits stores today, containing all 24 episodes of Season 4.
Here’s how Warner Bros. Home Entertainment describes the set:
Season Four serves up sweet success for two of Brooklyn’s hottest waitresses, Max (Kat Dennings) and Caroline (Beth Behrs), as they plan to strike it rich with their new cupcake T-shirt business! The shirts are selling like hot cakes, until a couple of unfortunate situations happen, and the two entrepreneurs are back at square one — and broke again. Love is in the air as Sophie (Jennifer Coolidge) and Oleg (Jonathan Kite) plan their wedding, with Max and Caroline as the bridesmaids and Earl (Garrett Morris) and Han (Matthew Moy) along for the ride. The girls still worry about ways to make money, but their friendship is worth a million bucks. Season Four also features appearances by guest stars Kim Kardashian West, Lily Aldridge and Sandra Bernard.
So what did we think?
The Episodes: I see the faces of my friends when I admit to them that I like 2 Broke Girls. But I do! It’s mean, it’s bawdy, it’s sometimes looking like a stage play, with people just saying their lines rather than acting them, but it’s fun, and I laugh, even with the 96th “Oleg is gross” or “Han is short” jokes. Sometimes you have to turn your brain off when watching TV, not get offended, and have fun. Maybe I just have a childish sense of humor; either way, I enjoy it. Most of the characters are walking stereotypes but the show has no pretension that they are much more. All 22 episodes are on this set. Judging from the ratings, I’m not the only one who is watching, either!
The Extras: Extras include unaired scenes – some of which are pretty funny – and there are bloopers. There were actually a lot of unaired scenes, which could result in 2 Broke bonuses.
Graphics & Sound: The episodes look and sound crisp and clear to me!
Is It Worth It? It depends. Eventually – if not already – 2 Broke Girls is probably available in syndication or Netflix to watch at your heart’s content. But if you don’t have those things, if they’re not already there, or you just really love the show, 2 Broke Girls is a fun thing to watch when you have time to kill and can just pop a DVD in. The extras are, of course, fun for 2 Broke Girls fans too. The set is fairly cheap, so if you want 22 episodes of silly fun, there are definitely much worse ways to spend your time and money, especially since it’s currently retailing for under $20.
