HBO has released the first teaser for upcoming televangelist comedy The Righteous Gemstones, which will premiere in August and air alongside acclaimed drama Succession.

From Danny McBride (Eastbound and Down), The Righteous Gemstones follows the Gemstones, a family who owns and operates a global TV ministry fronted by their patriarch Eli (John Goodman). When his son Jesse (McBride) attempts to expand and modernize their enterprise, battle lines are drawn.

In addition to Goodman and McBride, The Righteous Gemstones stars Adam Devine (Workaholics), Cassidy Freeman (Longmire), Edi Patterson (Vice Principals), James DuMont (Treme), Kelton DuMont (Logan), Tim Baltz (The Opposition with Jordan Klepper), Tony Cavalero (School of Rock), and Walton Goggins (Justified).

The series is part of a robust upcoming scripted slate for HBO, which is amping up its original scripted hours in the wake of being acquired by AT&T. In the coming months, the premium cabler will also be premiering miniseries Chernobyl, teen drama Euphoria, horror comedy Los Espookys, comic drama Watchmen, Philip Pullman adaptation His Dark Materials, family drama Years and Years, kidnapping drama Summer of 2014, sketch show A Black Lady Sketch Show, Helen Mirren-starring Catherine the Great, and empty-nest comedy Mrs. Fletcher.
