Deadline is reporting that Almost Human alum Michael Ealy and Mark Webber (SMILF) have joined ABC drama pilot Stumptown.
Based on the series of graphic novels from Greg Rucka, with Jason Richman (Detroit 1-8-7) developing for television, Stumptown tells the story of Dex (Cobie Smulders), a whip-smart, hard-luck former Military Intelligence officer having a tough time adjusting to a normal life in Portland. Now working as a private investigator in order to make ends meet and continue chasing the adventure she’s so clearly missing, Dex’s complicated past soon catches up to her.
Ealy is set as Portland PD Miles Hoffman, currently hot on the heels of escaped convict Samuel Kane, while Webber will play Dex’s best friend Grey McDonnell, a man renovating an old-fashioned brew pub whose dealings with Kane could come back to bite him.
In addition to his role on the FOX sci-fi drama, Ealy’s television credits include Secrets and Lies, Common Law, and Being Mary Jane, while Webber has appeared on Medium.
