Deadline is reporting that Casual alum Tommy Dewey has joined FOX comedy pilot Pivoting.
From Liz Astrof (The King of Queens), Pivoting follows a group of female friends who are left reeling after the death of their childhood best friend. In desperate attempts to find happiness, they make a series of impulsive, ill-advised, and self-indulgent decisions that strengthen their bond.
Dewey will play Henry, the husband of offbeat TV producer Amy (Eliza Coupe). He’s a private contractor who, while in an argument with his wife, accidentally crashes their car through the front of the local grocery store. Instead of being a source of trauma, though, it inadvertently does wonders for their sex life.
In addition to his role on the Hulu dramedy, Dewey’s television credits include Curb Your Enthusiasm, Four Weddings and a Funeral, and Code Black.
Pivoting is part of a comedy pilot slate for FOX that includes mockumentary This Country, based on the acclaimed British series of the same name. The network already has a series order for animated comedies The Great North and Housebroken, as well as a series commitment for Call Me Kat, a multi-cam starring Mayim Bialik that’s also based on an acclaimed British series, this one being Miranda Hart’s Miranda.
