Variety is reporting that Vikings alum Clive Standen has joined NBC drama pilot Council of Dads. He’ll be playing Anthony, a chef who wears his heart on his sleeve.
Based on Bruce Feiler’s memoir of the same name, with Tony Phelan and Joan Rater (Grey’s Anatomy) developing for television, Council of Dads follows Scott Perry, a man faced with a potentially terminal diagnosis. Along with his wife Robin (Sarah Wayne Callies), Scott pulls together a unique group of carefully chosen friends to support his family and guide them through the ups and downs of life’s many challenges.
In addition to his role on the History drama, Standen has appeared on the likes of Taken, Atlantis, and Camelot. He joins a cast that includes Michele Weaver (Love Is__), J. August Richards (Angel), and newcomer Blue Chapman.
Council of Dads is part of a drama pilot slate for NBC that includes murder trial drama Prism; musical dramedy Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist; conspiracy thriller Emergence, legal drama Bluff City Law; and Bone Collector series adaptation Lincoln.
