Bravo has announced that dark comedy Imposters has been renewed for a second season, which should consist of 10 episodes and premiere early 2018.
“Imposters has truly resonated with our audience and critics alike with its unique brand of suspense and humor,” said Frances Berwick, President of Lifestyle Networks at NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment. “We’re excited to see what the future holds for this unlikely band of flawed but lovable characters that our talented creators and actors have fully brought to life.”
From Adam Brooks (Definitely, Maybe) and Paul Adelstein (Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce), Imposters tells the story of Maddie (Inbar Lavi), a beautiful con-artist working for a mysterious figure known as The Doctor to clean out the bank accounts of a never-ending series of marks. Maddie might be quite good at her job, able to weave in and out of new identities like it’s nothing, but she’s soon in for a surprise when three of her most recent targets band together and track her down. Only when they get a full glimpse into Maddie’s world, they’re shocked by what they find.
In addition to Lavi, Imposters stars Parker Young (Suburgatory), Rob Heaps (Home Fires), Marianne Rendon (Gemini), Stephen Bishop (Being Mary Jane), and Brian Benben (Private Practice).
Increasing its ratings 23% from the first half of season one to the second, and averaging 1.4 million total viewers per episode, Imposters joins a solid scripted slate for Bravo that includes Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce and Odd Mom Out, both of whom should be airing new episodes this summer.
