OWN has revealed that the second half of Greenleaf season two will be premiering in a two-night event similar to the recent roll out of Queen Sugar. The series will be returning on Tuesday, August 15th and Wednesday, August 16th at 10:00 before settling into its Wednesdays at 10:00 slot the following week.
Season 2A of Greenleaf focused on Grace’s continued torment at Mac getting away, fueled by the one-year anniversary of Faith’s death and Danielle attempting suicide, as well as the growing rift between Jacob and the Bishop. While Jacob’s allegiance to Basie Skanks was tested by the house of cards that was Triumph II, Kevin made the steps toward accepting himself after things officially concluded with Charity.
From Craig Wright (Six Feet Under), Greenleaf tells the story of the Memphis-based Greenleaf family, the owners and operators of a megachurch that has run into trouble. The series, which joins a scripted slate for OWN that includes Queen Sugar, The Haves and the Have Nots, and If Loving You is Wrong, stars Keith David (Crash), Lynn Whitfield (The Josephine Baker Story), Merle Dandridge (Star-Crossed), Lamman Rucker (Meet the Browns), Kim Hawthorne (Da Vinci’s Inquest), and Deborah Joy Winans (Whitney).
