Oz The Great And Powerful did decently at the box office earlier this year, CBS has a “Wizard Of Oz as a primetime soap in a hospital,” and now, according to a report on Deadline, NBC wants to develop a Wizard Of Oz drama TV series.

images-8Titled Emerald City, the project is described by Deadline as “a dark imagining” of the story in the vein of Game Of Thrones. Siberia creator/showrunner Matthew Arnold is the one who would make it happen.

Deadline also notes that Heroes’ Adam Armus, Kay Foster, and Tim Kring might have an Oz inspired project of their own in the pipeline. Us? We just want Heroes back around here…
