HBO has given a series order to Westworld from Executive Producers Jonathan Nolan and J.J. Abrams.
Inspired by the motion picture of the same name, written and directed by Michael Crichton (Jurassic Park), Westworld is described as “a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin.”
Westworld hails from Bad Robot Productions, Jerry Weintraub Productions and Kilter Films in association with Warner Bros. Television. In addition to Jonathan Nolan as Executive Producer/Writer/Director, the talent behind the project includes Lisa Joy (EP/Writer), J.J. Abrams, Jerry Weintraub, Bryan Burk (more Executive Producers), Kathy Lingg (Co-EP), Athena Wickham (Producer), and Susie Ekins (Co-Producer).
The hour-long series’ cast will include Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Miranda Otto, Rodrigo Santoro, Shannon Woodward, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Angela Sarafyan, Simon Quarterman.
Westworld is coming in 2015.
