Multiple trades including Deadline and Variety are reporting this afternoon that a Veronica Mars revival series could be coming to the Hulu streaming service.
The project would hail from creator Rob Thomas and would again star Kristen Bell who currently stars in The Good Place. As the Veronica Mars project is said to be for only a limited number of episodes (some are reporting 8; others “8 to 10”), it will not conflict with Bell’s role on the NBC series.
The trades all say that Hulu and Warner Bros. Television have not commented; however, it is interesting to note that the story dropped on the trades all at the same time, almost as if there was an embargo of some sort. Deals have not yet been made official, either.
Veronica Mars aired for three seasons — two on UPN and the third on The CW in its inaugural year. The series, featuring Bell as a young sleuth, was critically-acclaimed and saw a fan-fueled revival movie in 2014.
