Lifetime has announced that the third season of UnREAL is set to premiere Monday, February 26th at 10:00, nearly two years after it last aired. When the show was originally shifted out of its typical summer slot, there was talk about using it as a lead-in to upcoming psychological thriller You, but with the show airing at 10:00, Lifetime seems to be leaving the show to its own devices while platforming You elsewhere.
The third season of the former critical darling will see the addition of Masters of Sex alum Caitlin Fitzgerald as the first female suitor (or suitress) on show-within-the-show Everlasting, putting her squarely in the crosshairs of ratings obsessed producers Quinn and Rachel. The series has also added Brandon Jay McLaren (Ransom) as the new Everlasting on-set psychologist; Kassandra Clementi (Hatfields and McCoys) as Chet’s new girlfriend Crystal; Chelsea Hobbs (Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce) as new camera assistant Charlie; and Jaime Callica (Wayward Pines) as Jay’s dancer love interest Xavier.
UnREAL is one of only two active scripted series for Lifetime joining Canadian production Mary Kills People, so it’s as yet unclear what Lifetime’s homegrown scripted roster will look like post-rebrand.
