Doctor Who fans should be excited to see that the actress who played Martha Jones’ sister Tish has landed the lead female role in J.J. Abrams’ upcoming NBC spy series Undercovers.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that that lead role has gone to Gugu Mbatha-Raw, who will star opposite Boris Kodjow in the series, which THR describes as being about “a domesticated husband (Kodjoe) and wife (Mbatha-Raw) who are re-activated as CIA agents after years of retirement.”
If the show is picked up (and it’s very likely, considering the number of open timeslots on the NBC line-up), the series will premiere Fall 2010.
