Bonnie Hunt has joined upcoming Showtime limited series Escape at Dannemora. Joining a cast that includes Patricia Arquette and Benicio del Toro, she’ll be playing Catherine Leahy Scott, the New York State Inspector General who headed up the investigation into the escape of prison inmates Richard Matt and David Sweat.
The Ruderman Family Foundation has conducted a study of disabled representation on television, with 95% of disabled roles going to non-disabled actors and FOX performing the best out of the broadcast networks.
A study from USC’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism found that people ages 60 and older made up only 9.4% of television speaking roles, despite making up 19.9% of the U.S. population, according to the U.S. census.

The CW is developing The Viagra Diaries, an adaptation of the acclaimed Barbara Rose Brooker novel of the same name. The series centers on a woman who, after her husband has a mid-life crisis at 65 and leaves her, struggles with being single for the first time in 35 years.
E! is developing One of Us Is Lying, an adaptation of the bestselling Karen M. McManus mystery thriller. The series follows what happens when five strangers walk into detention and only four walk out alive. Everyone is a suspect, everyone has secrets to hide, but how far they would go to protect themselves drives the story.
ABC is developing We Can Do Better, a southern family comedy from Last Man on Earth executive producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller. The series centers on a soccer mom who deals with her newly “woke” life in the south as a parent, wife, American citizen, and daughter of hard core conservative parents.
FOX is developing an untitled medical drama centered on Charlie Foster, a hyper-charismatic doctor who travels the world in search of the most innovative new medicines, all while he and his team tackle the most challenging, unique medical cases from their special hospital wing in Cambridge, MA.
CBS is developing Murder, a remake of the BBC miniseries of the same name. Shot like a true crime documentary, the series would journey of an investigation, allowing them to discern the truth and judge the suspects’ guilt or innocence for themselves.
