In a major plot twist befitting this time of the TV year, NBC has reversed its cancellation of Timeless and granted the time travel drama a 10-episode second season that will air sometime next year, per creators Shawn Ryan and Eric Kripke.

The decision comes merely days after the series was cancelled after one season. The cancellation was due to the show’s soft Live + Same Day ratings and NBC’s jam packed schedule, but with strong DVR lifts, an active online fan base, and some favorable financial gymnastics (Sony reportedly gave NBC the lion’s share of the show’s profits), Timeless was able to return to the schedule for another go-around.
NBC will be revealing its plans for 2017-18 Sunday, May 14th, with its upfront presentation to follow Monday, May 15th. You can check out what KSiteTV thought the network could do here.
