The grandson of Gregory Peck, who has himself appeared in Gossip Girl and ABC Family’s 10 Things I Hate About You, will be the male lead in The CW’s Hunger Games-like new pilot The Selection.
Deadline.com broke the news tonight that Ethan Peck has been tapped as the prince in The CW pilot from Vampire Diaries writers Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain. Peck will be playing Prince Maxon, the intended mate of the person who is chosen by a lottery in the far future to marry him at a time when their war-torn land is in flux. One such person who is chosen to participate is the show’s lead character, America Singer, who will be played by Aimee Teegarden.
The Selection is one of many high-profile pilots for The CW this year — a roster that also includes the Green Arrow pilot Arrow, Sex and the City prequel The Carrie Diaries, Cult, and an update of the CBS series Beauty and the Beast. While it’s not guaranteed that we will see all of them, chances are good that at least a few will go all the way.

Everyone of them sounds interesting to me except for ‘The Carrie Diaries’
