When The Rookie has new episodes in 2023, the Nathan Fillion-starring series will air on a new night!
Starting with new episodes on January 3, The Rookie will be moving to Tuesdays where it will be paired with spinoff The Rookie: Feds in the following hour. Yes, The Rookie is taking on the FBI franchise… good luck with that. Here’s what ABC had to say about it in their press release:
A new Tuesday night block begins TUESDAY, JAN. 3, with a crossover event when “The Rookie” returns on its new day at 8 p.m. EST, followed by “The Rookie: Feds” at 9 p.m. EST. On their first crossover episodes of the season, “The Rookie” hit a new season high among Adults 18-49 (0.7/5), while “The Rookie: Feds” drew its biggest audience (4.1 million viewers) since its series debut. Joining the night will be new crime drama “Will Trent,” starring Ramón Rodríguez in the title role and based on Karin Slaughter’s wildly popular bestselling book series.
So, don’t fret when you ask “why isn’t The Rookie on tonight?” The show will be back in less than two months, and the show’s return will begin with a crossover!
