The CW has ordered another pilot for a possible spot on the 2014-2015 schedule.
Deadline reports that The Messengers “starts with a mysterious object crashing down to earth. A group of seemingly unconnected strangers die from the energy pulse, but then awaken to learn that they have been deemed responsible for preventing the impending Apocalypse.”
Basil Iwanyk is executive producing through Thunder Road Television and the pilot will be written by Eoghan O’Donnell (Teen Wolf) with The Good Wife executive producer Ted Humphrey supervising.
The Messengers is The CW’s sixth pilot order for this year, after The Flash, Jane The Virgin, Identity, iZombie, and the Supernatural: Tribes backdoor pilot.
