Syfy released a new supertease for the final three episodes of The Magicians season two in culmination with the show’s presence at WonderCon today.
The remainder of season two, which has seen everything from the deaths of Alice and The Beast to the disappearance of Umber and the crowning of new High King Eliot, looks to amp things up even more with dragons, the Underworld, and a horde of intimidating fairies. While Quentin and Julia are looking for an Ancient One to help them into the Underworld and retrieve her shade, Margo is forced to deal with some pissed off fairies after she attempts to renege on the deal she made with the ambassador exchanging Eliot’s progeny for the repair of the wellspring. Elsewhere, Kady goes searching for the type of battle magic that could help take Reynard down once and for all and Alice returns hellbent on getting even with Quentin.
The Magicians is part of a drama slate for Syfy that includes 12 Monkeys, Z Nation, The Expanse, Channel Zero, Wynonna Earp, Dark Matter, Van Helsing, and Killjoys. Though the show hasn’t been renewed for a third season as of yet, it’s doing better in the ratings than fellow Syfy originals (and recent renewals) 12 Monkeys, The Expanse, and Channel Zero, all the while attracting significant buzz and helping to mold the perception of Syfy’s original scripted content into something more positive and well-respected.
