ABC Family’s parent trap The Lying Game is no more.
The Hollywood Reporter today confirmed the information Tweeted by series lead Alexandra Chando earlier today that the show will not be back for a third season.
“To our awesome #lyinggame fans, thank you for these two amazing seasons. Unfortunately, Abc Family has decided not to bring us back for a third season. We so wanted to do 10 more for you guys! Thanks for your support and keep up with the cast to see what’s next for us! Xx,” the Tweet said.
The Lying Game lasted for two seasons on ABC Family, and premiered at a time a similar but more older-skewing series with a similar concept, Ringer, came on to The CW. Ringer, which starred Sarah Michelle Gellar, lasted only a season. In TLG’s two years, the show featured Alexandra Chando as twins Sutton and Emma, and it featured appearances by actors including Charisma Carpenter, Adrian Pasdar, and Helen Slater.
THR says no decision has been made yet concerning ABC Family’s other “bubble show,” Bunheads, so stay tuned…
